Creative People

Tomek Baginski. I don't think many people are familiar with this name. Unless, you are working in an animation industry. He is also actually one of my favourite animator along side with Tim Burton.

Well, let me give you a brief profile about him.

His full name is Tomek Baginski. He is a polish animator and artist. He is born on January 10, 1976 in Bialystok, Poland. He studied Architecture at the Warsaw Institute of Technology. He joined Platige Image (Polish post-production house) in 1998 and is now an Art Director. Tomek Baginski's current submission, "Fallen Art", to SIGGRAPH 2005's Animation Festival has won the Jury Honors. He was previously honored with Best Animated Short in SIGGRAPH 2002's Animation Festival for "The Cathedral". In 2003, "The Cathedral" was also nominated for the 75th Academy Award's Best Animated Short.

His work, " Fallen Art" had become my favourite among all. It is about a general who thinks he is an artist. His work or art is somewhat a deranged, where all of his soldiers are being pushed down from a giant springboard onto a slab of concrete by Sergeant Al, then their dead bodies are immediately taken by Dr. Johann Friedrich and finally is sent to him to produced his stop motion masterpiece.

It is really interesting. I am sure it took a lot of time for this person to think of this kind of story. Anyway, here is the clip of the "Fallen Art".

A scary death turns into a beautiful masterpiece.

Lesson 1 : Defining Creativity

Creative Studies

Studying on how to be creative, Isn't that sounds fun?I personally thinks it is an interesting subject.
I am sure it will helps me in the future to be a creative person so that i could express myself through art.

Excercise:

We have to draw a creative image of our friend and upload it into the blog and explain about the image.

Here it is! well this my friend aan. The reason I drew her like this because she actually reminds me of a doll. Not barbie doll but the doll with cotton/wool inside it :D. Anyway, at times , she is a little bit paranoid about stuff so that is why I drew her eyes, one small and the other one big.

As you can see, based on the lecture on week 2, creativity is the ability to generate new ideas or new ways of doing things.Everyone in the world is creative. Not only that, it is not hard to be creative because it depends on the person's ability to use their creativity to its up most potential. Some people may appear to be creative than others but hardwork is the key.

Creativity also helps us to solve problems in our daily lifes. Most of the tools or inventions are based on an idea/imagination to solve our problems/to make our lifes easier. For example, cars are invented to helps us move around faster from place to place, a spoon is invented so that we can eat our food without dirtying our hands and telephone is invented so we can communicate with people far away. You can also say that problem solving is the key to unleashing a person's creativity.

To be creative, you don't need to have a brand new ideas because you can say everything in the world has been done before. However, most great ideas came from combination of old concepts and is presented in a new way giving it a sense of novelty to the audience.

This is why most artist loves to observe things around them to get inspired.

I definitely agree, all you need is hard work in order to be creative. It applies to everything that you are going to do later in life.
